An untouched wilderness, the Orinoco Delta is one of
the world’s largest river delta systems. Limited interference by
man has resulted in a dynamic, varied and wildlife rich eco-system. The
arterial Orinoco River drains the delta, dividing into numerous smaller
channels that ebb and flow their way to the Atlantic Ocean. Exploring
the region either on foot, or by canoe, is a fantastic experience. Delta
lodges have been established and their guides will take you to meet indigenous
Indian tribes and will try to seek out the 300 bird and 100 mammal species
that are found there.
