Peru & Bolivia
Synonymous with the Inca, the culture and heritage of both countries remains incredibly strong. Sail across Lake Titicaca or walk amongst ancient ruins in Peru’s Sacred Valley. Llamas are your constant land companion whilst high up condors circle above you.

The high altitude landscape stretches south from La Paz to the country’s border with Chile and Argentina. The scenery is always dramatic, few people live outside of the main towns and llamas and alpacas graze on the rough grass. Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia, is a fine colonial town. Further south is the city of Potosí. The highest city in the world grew rapidly during the 16th century following the discovery of silver in the nearby Cerro Rico Mountain. Opulent churches and grand mansions were all built on the back of the lucrative silver trade. Despite the difficult conditions local people still work at the mine to this day. Uyuni in the far south is the starting point for the amazing excursion to the world’s largest salt flats the Salar de Uyuni. Covering 9000 square kilometres the salar is a surreal moonlike environment. The landscape is stunning and the air totally still. Flamingos are
often seen feeding in the distance. Accommodation is very basic, this is an ‘experience trip’.
