Brazil
From the icy waters around Cape Horn to the dry deserts of Peru,
Chile’s landscape is stunning and incredibly varied. The Pacific is
never far away and the Andes Mountains, which form the backbone
of the country, loom large. Sit back with a glass of Chilean wine
and take it all in.

The Magallanes region of Southern Chile has some of the most magnificent mountain and glacial scenery to be found anywhere in the world. The jagged snow capped Andes are a profusion of colour, condors can be seen circling overhead, the air is pure and there is an incredible sense of freedom and space. The coastline is equally as dramatic; hundreds of small uninhabited islands lie close to the mainland; deep fjords and channels cut in amongst the dense forests. The regions two main towns of Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales are both interesting places to stay. Punta Arenas is Chile’s most southerly city, a number of fine mansion houses remain, Magellanic Penguins can be found in the burrows at the Seno Otway Reserve. Puerto Natales lies further north and is the terminus of the spectacular Skorpios ferry sailing to Puerto Montt. A pleasant town, the breathtaking Torres del Paine National Park can be easily reached from Puerto Natales.
