Climate and When
to go
Caribbean countries have basically the same weather patterns. The islands
are generally warm all year round, humidity is not too great a problem
as sea breezes tend to keep it at bay. Rainfall is usually heaviest between
July and November, although it can be expected at anytime in the year.
The most important weather factor is hurricanes. The further north you
travel the greater the potential risk; of all the destinations featured
Cuba is the most likely to be affected by tropical storms. Barbados and
Antigua are also potentially at risk, so if travelling between August
and November this is something to consider. Tobago, the Netherlands Antilles
and Cartagena are all outside the normal hurricane belt.
Getting There
All of the Caribbean destinations are relatively straightforward to visit.
Cuba, Barbados, Tobago and Antigua all have direct flights from the UK.
The Netherlands Antilles can be reached via Amsterdam and Cartagena can
be reached via Bogotá in Colombia. If considering a few days relaxation
either at the start or the end of your trip, please call us and we will
