Canada
Canada is all about the great outdoors. Explore the Rocky Mountains
and experience great wildlife in dramatic wilderness locations.
Eastern Canada is beautiful during the autumnal months, head north
to Churchill in October for the mysterious Northern Lights and the
ever inquisitive Polar Bear.

Country Combinations
Canada has so much to offer that most visits will not be tagged on with anywhere else. However, there are still plenty of options available to you, the main one being to cross into the United States. The land border between the two countries is huge and there are literally hundreds of places where you can cross. Possibly the most interesting of these is to drive north-west from the Yukon into Alaska.

Climate and When to go
The world’s second largest country, Canada has many varied climatic zones. Unless you are looking for Polar Bears and the Northern Lights, most visits to Canada occur between May and October. Western Canada has a pleasant summer climate, rain can be expected at anytime. The east coast has a maritime climate and conditions here are the most erratic seen in the country. South central around Niagara has the warmest summer weather, while conditions in the far north are exceptionally harsh during the winter months.

Getting There
Canada is very well served with daily flights by Air Canada to most of the main destinations. On the outward journey all flights are during the daytime, on the way back, and as a result of the time difference, all flights go overnight arriving in the UK the following day. British Airways also has a number of direct services to key Canadian cities. Several Arctic cruise ships sailing from Iceland and Greenland make Canada their final destination. Cruising in and flying out is an excellent way to visit.
