Climate and When
to go
Brazil is a tropical country with a hot and humid climate. The primary
rainy season lasts from November to April; however you should expect
downpours at anytime, particularly if you are travelling to the Amazon.
The north-east tends to be the driest region and is not generally affected
by the seasons in the same way as the rest of the country.
Getting There
Flight connections to Brazil are generally good. Varig the national airline
of Brazil, operates a daily service out of Heathrow flying overnight
to São Paulo and then on to Rio de Janeiro. Brazil is one of the
few remaining South American countries still serviced by British Airways.
Flights operate three times a week into São Paulo and then on
to Rio de Janeiro. TAP have good connections via Lisbon to alternative
regional destinations. Other options include Iberia via Madrid and several
American carriers operating via the USA.
