Ushuaia is the most southerly city anywhere in the world, located at the very tip of South America on the island of Tierra del Fuego. Ushuaia will probably be the starting point for your Antarctic cruise and unlike the majority of the world’s harbours is the kind of place well worth spending a few days exploring prior to departure. The town has one of the most beautiful settings anywhere in the world, surrounded by water and with the Andes Mountain rising dramatically in the background. The nearby and little visited Tierra del Fuego National Park with its typical Patagonian scenery, may also be explored prior to embarkation.
