Alaska
A true wilderness destination; visit the island of Kodiak to see
North America’s largest Brown Bears, take to the trails in Denali
for a great view of mighty Mount McKinley; or watch the marine life amongst spectacular scenery from a coastal cruise vessel.

Juneau, the capital city of Alaska, is located 14 miles from the Alaskan Marine Highway. Probably the only capital that you cannot reach by road, Juneau is heavily reliant on the sea. Surrounded by high mountain peaks and overlooking the Gastineau Channel the city has an enviable location. Marine life can be seen close to shore; walking trails take you through colourful meadows and up into the nearby temperate rainforest. Glacier Bay is a stunning national park, 10 colourful glaciers spread out across the mountain range and then deposit large chunks of blue ice in the waters below. Orca and Humpback Whales are often seen here along with over 200 different species of bird.
Coastal Cruise Vessel
Spirit of ‘98

A small vessel, the Spirit of ‘98 is a complete contrast to the much larger cruise ships that sail the Inside Passage. Carrying a maximum of 96 guests, the vessel has been designed along the lines of an early 20th century coastal steamer. There is a grand salon complete with piano and a traditional old world bar. There are a variety of different cabin categories, all with outside views. This is the ideal boat if you wish to avoid a large number of people.
